Le Pacte d'honneur de Bkerké, january / february 2007

Declare as follows:

1 - support "the fundamentals of the Maronite Church" proclaimed by the Council of Maronite Bishops, fully, and our commitment to all its provisions.

2 - our commitment to the principle of mutual respect, and concern for the dignity of political communication, and to refrain from the use of the language of mistrust, and the market charges.

3 - to confirm our adherence to the principle of dialogue to resolve political differences between us, in a spirit of brotherhood and in the framework of democracy and law.

4 - resorting to the categorical rejection of any form of violence and armed clashes, no matter what the excuses and reasons.

5 - adherence to the spirit of democracy in our political practice, in the context of the parties or in any other context, and to respect the choices of others, and to move away from hatred and sectarian prejudices, or party, or group, or personal.

6 - Working to spread the spirit of tolerance, reconciliation and commitment to good and the supreme interest of Lebanon, and to address urgent matters as they deem the "fundamentals of the Maronite Church."

7 - As we put in the hands of our Charter that His Eminence, we affirm our commitment to reviving the constitutional institutions on the national basis of valid and legal, and we ask God to help us to be faithful to the Covenant, and to contribute to the building of a right to our homeland, and the stabilization of the co-existence in it, to complement his distinctive cultural and provides for all its citizens what they dreamed of dignity and security and prosperity
